The R.J.L.F was formed in 1983 and is now
run by three trustees. Namely,
Bob Johns M.B.E (Roberts Father), Hazel
Cartwright and Roy Cobbledick, in memory of Robert, son of Bob, who
fought the disease for five long years but unfortunately lost the battle
at age 11.
His treatment centres were the
Leukaemia, Cancer, Ward 5 at Freedom Fields Hospital in Plymouth Devon for
children, (This has now been moved to Plymouth's main hospital, "Derriford"),
and the 'Royal Marsden Hospital' in Sutton, Surrey. The money raised by
the fund is divided between these two centres every year. Few expenses are
incurred, as they are mainly absorbed by the trustees. |
